Nikki
Colony: Walmart August 2020
We purchase A LOT of cat medication from the local Walmart pharmacy and have gotten to know the staff very well. One of the technicians told us that she and several other employees had been feeding a kitten in the parking lot for a few days— and all of them wanted to adopt her. There was an impending thunderstorm, so we rushed back with a trap. Within fifteen minutes, we had her! It turns out Nikki wasn’t a kitten at all but a severely emaciated and extremely feral young adult. She was spayed the following day and tested positive for FELV. We had to quarantine her for a month and retest her using an IFA lab test. She is, to date, our only FELV+ cat and has a room of her own!
